Not-so-quick sketch of a Siamese Fighting Fish, aka Betta, using a Preppy Fountain Pen with water-soluble red ink, and another Preppy with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Brown ink, and added watercolour with the ColorPro #12 travel brush.
Quick sketch of a White-Bellied Sea-Eagle to test out a sharpened twig dip pen given to me by Penang sketcher @kiahkiean, and watercolour added with a new #12 ColorPro Series 2350-P travel brush from Straits Art Co. The ink I used is a combination of black Yue Gong Dian Chinese Ink and Brilliant Brown Pelikan 4001 Ink.
After testing out Surabaya sketcher LK Bing’s ColorPro S4400 Taklon Squirrel brush at his studio with this anyhow sketch, I decided to get one too, from Straits Art Co. today! (at Ciputra Land , The Singapore of Surabaya)
I immediately shut myself up and let them take my money (with a nice discount of course). Love this book “Urban Watercolor Sketching” by Felix Scheinberger, available at #Basheer Graphic Books. (at Basheer Graphic Books)
Sketched this only 5% on location at the Balai Permuda in Surabaya as it started loud thunder and lightning and then raining heaving soon after we began drawing. Finished this up on the plane ride home from a photo I took there. So this is not exactly an “Urban Sketch”. ;) I used a glittery gold gel pen for this piece.
